Imagine you are standing on the railing of a river promenade and watching the waves. You see smaller boats rocking back and forth. Then suddenly a larger boat comes along, creating even more waves, which make the smaller boats rock even more. At the end of the piece of music I see the larger boat disappear around the next bend. Musically, I have chosen a Jazz Waltz. Our drummer uses the so-called brushes to present the waves. This feeling is supported by our trombone section, which plays an undulating melody.
